There is a micro brewery place here in Fort Myers where the bathrooms have a texture that I would describe as cake icing. They then painted it with high gloss dark paint. The lights reflect of every ugly bit of texture. So tempted to sneak in and skim coat it.

My whole house has knockdown texture, improper repairs, drywall anchor and nail holes, some bad taping, obvious patch jobs, and a couple hairline cracks. Every single room needs skim coating and I'm overwhelmed. There's no way I could pay anyone else to do it all so hopefully I can learn from these videos.

Yea I'm debating on doing a skim coat on my bathroom. There is some texture from I'm guess way to many coats of paint. Lol. Great video as always.

Wow great tips on skim coating. I am skim coating a wall and I will use your method. I also have a small patch of ceiling to repair from what looks like water damage. :) I appreciate the list of tools. Any tips on crown modeling that separates because of the wood expanding from heat?

Thanks for the video. Is there any preparation needed to the 3/4 nap roller so any fibers transfer to the wall? Also, can I skim coat over a painted wall? If so, does the skim coating need to be primer painted before the finish paint is applied?

So you’re costing over textured wall paper ? I’ve actually stripped the textured paper from the wall downstairs and didn’t realise I could just leave it. Upstairs and kitchen? is still papered though so maybe I’ll leave that? The one I feel I might need to definitely get a professional in for us the artex ceiling 😬

#drywalltube I noticed you are using a Wooster roller. In my opinion, they are the best rollers out there. You don't have to worry about the roller cover coming off the roller. Keep the good videos coming!

I followed your tips. When doing the second layer of skim coat, lots of tiny air bubbles showed up. Why does that happen and how can it be prevented? Could it be from residual sanding dust from the first coat or mixing the mud too much? Thanks.
