We’ve had four Subaru ! Only one that didn’t need engine repair in the first 100, 000 miles!

You didn't mention another benefit of that design, the opposing pistons movement, allows the piston from one side, to cancel the movement of the piston on the other side, so the engine doesn't move and shake like other designs do.

Agree mostly I’ve known people having their Subaru for more than e decade. I experience the big difference than my 2015 Ford Explorer the Subaru ascent is so fun to drive reliable and looking for good dependability.

The wagons engines last because they don’t have turbos. When you drive the wagons conservative it lasts, but you won’t see any old turbocharged boxer engines. They tend to blow.

How about lower reaction forces on the cam shaft. Lighter casting...

"Lighter means less weight "
did you really just say that?

Main disadvantage of Subaru boxer engine are oil leaks. Major problem, due to the Subaru design. Don´t take my word, search the web....

They call it an inline engine because the pistons are in a straight, vertical line. Years ago, Chrysler had
a "slant 6" that was a bit like a "V" engine...but just with one side of the "V."

I prefer cutrite wax paper on the weekdays and reynolds aluminum with dry ice on the brim when I'm going out for formal occasions! It'sworked for me for years having owned 6 Vegas!

It lets your mechanic drive a much nicer car than you do.

Yes there are Subaru’s there with 300K, but with a cost of 3 head gasket jobs and most likely 2 cat converters.

Say it slowly - in line
"Stand in line"
Does that help you understand why they call it inline?
