quite sad that they did not send up night hikers. Had I known I would have gone. Instead in an emergency situation knowing he would freeze they waited till morning because of the bureaucracy. had I known where he was parked I would have broke the rules and went in from outside the gates. HORRIFYING that they dont know people can hike at night with proper gear. I do it all the time.

People stop saying "OH NO, I WISH IT WAS KENNY VEAC" (if you don't know him go search in youtube and u will find)
It is rude. This person might not be Kenny, but he had a family too. So disrespectful. You might be even older than me and being disrespectful (I am 12 years old) Sad that people only care about famous people. None of you would care if I was gone except my family and friends. Now what were you writing in replies?

Would it be possible for civil rescue patrols to organize drone operators? I think ANY expedited search from the air might help in the future. As opposed to waiting for the guarantee/deposit of helicopter fuel. In this case especially, minutes count.

Feel so bad for his family!! He looks like a really nice guy. What a shame. I can't help but think, why on Earth would a diabetic go on a hike alone and with little to no food or water? I hike alone 99% of the time (not even on trails) and have never had an issue. It's so important to listen to your body and also be aware of your surroundings.
