More coments on the song Livisiani mu perdika. Perdika (partridge) is a love word when addressing a beloved woman. Also the lemon-tree (lemonia), is used in a symbolic way for a beloved and gracious woman. This is an old traditional song, so the images are rural. Last : Livissi, the place of origin of the beloved "perdika" is situated in the south-western coast of Turkey and it is known today under the name Kayaköy.

I think this may be a song of yearning for bygone days/places/people... Livissi in Asia Minor was formerly a thriving Greek community... Many of the people moved to Nea Makri, near Athens, not far from where I live... "Perdika" is Greek for "partridge, " which I believe was used as a term of endearment for a girl... thus the song's title translates as "My darling girl from Livissi!" Maybe a Greek with better knowledge than me could comment? The article from Ekathimerini appearing below is helpful...
