spinning are for finesse. bait casters are for heavy lures, cranks, top water, spinner and chatter.

Straight facts bro spinning reels are much more versatile but for large pike or musky fishing I have found that casting a heavy lure works better on a bait caster and high gear ratio lets you have better action and get fish in faster.

I use the spinning room for light lures and my baitcaster for heavier. I might just be me but it is a lot easier to cast further with a spinning wheel with a light lower than a baitcaster.

I think both a great and baitcasters make you look cooler but I just feel like spinning reels are more versatile and unless you have a lot of setups with different and everything for different conditions I don’t feel like you need one… you wanna look cool lol

I like baitcasters because I don’t have to take my hand off the reel to go from cast to reel. And I feel like I can cast farther with more control

I love both both but you can't compare when it comes to big game like Marlin or Sailfish but for smaller like snook well you are fine

Baitcaster have more precise casts and they cast farther, also spinning reels reel from side but baitcaster reel up and down so it makes more sense for line to just come directly off the spool but baitcasters take time to learn

Baitcasters apply direct force to the fish which makes it easier to catch more quicker and faster. (Just depends if you have good spots, I’ve been fishing with my baitcaster in one of my ponds and it’s been really quick.)

I like spinning reels more just bc it’s easier to cast in tight places with trees and bushes all around you and I usually go fishing in places like that
