No. Jetbrains wants to make it paid or even if not paid, definitely not open source. VSCode will not have any competition from a paid product.

This did NOT age well. JetBrains by design is meant to be garbage. VSCode is going to be the king of editors / IDEs moving forward. It's just too good. Literally nothing compares to it due to the ecosystem / efficiency / compatibility / pricing (free). NO ONE with a brain would want to pay $$$ for less features lol.
