After the clear coat fully cures remember to wax the headlights a couple times a year. Stops the yellowing and fading all over again

Good job! This is the correct way to do this! If anyone is curious, you can get 2k clear from your automotive paint supply. They are happy to sell it in a rattle can! Best wishes!

Finally, a 'life hack' that isn't bogus, this is legit how most car body shops restore headlights, not a click bait, this is genuine, one bit of advise I can give, is make sure the Clear Coat you use on the headlights when you spray them has UV protection in it, this will help against this ever happening again, as its the sun's UV that causes the 'Yellowing' and 'Hazing'that causes the damage in the first place, just helps to avoid this from happening again, if not, once the paint has had time to dry and cure, and has had several hours to dry hard, give them a gentle final polish with a very fine finishing wax that has uv protection, not anything which has cutting compound or you'll undo all this hard work 👍

It looks really good! Big difference for a little bit of elbow grease.

Looks great!
There are no “permanent” fixes for headlights though. Once that initial OEM UV coating is ‘dead’, you’ll need to do headlight restore every1-5years depending on the method you use.
That’s why I offer lifetime guarantee on all my restorations.

🔥end result you have in the video though!

Quick and straight to the point, thank you so much! Also use some UV headlight protection polish as this helps against future yellowing :)

Give headlights a good once-over with a red Scotch-Brite pad. Then wet sand with 1000 grit paper. Use the cheapest rattle can clear you can find. Been doing it this way for 20 years headlights look like new.

I do this professionally with wet sanding and UV compound, then add a hard UV clear. Last a long time

Ive done this without taping, wrapping and plastic with only 1000 grit on a farm vehicle, the lights were good as new without all the unnecessary steps

I could never bring myself to use clear coat on headlights. I just polished mine until they were flawless. The big trick is just to take the headlight out and polish them while you watch tv or a movie. Well done though bro! Yours turned out great 👍

Did same for my Honda Jazz. It holds already about 7 years.
Main thing is - use 2k varnish.

For better results that last longer, use a polisher & coat it with a ceramic coating for longevity
