Fast Charge Your Large Power Station Off 12 Volts!

In this video I use a heavy duty 12v to 36v 20 amp DC to DC boost converter to get 500 watts of charging into the Oukitel P2001. Instead of getting only 100 watts of charging off a 12v battery, you can get much more!

Vital caveat: make sure your power station can take input voltage as high as what the converter puts out. If the power station has a 28V input limit, then use a 12V to 24V converter rather than 12V-36V converter.

Finally someon with decent sized battery cables

These are the BEST power stations out there. At around $1000 for 2kwh and a 2kw inverter this is an insane bang for the buck

now you gota charge the battery with the portable battery

I think many of us have been looking forward to this specific video. Thank you, Jason. We will stay tuned to see the full length in-depth video.

Yup, do what it takes to get close to the max charging voltage.

I have an identical 12V=>36V converter for my identical P2001 power station. I bought the converter on ebay after your video with the smaller step-up converters.

added benifit, you can solar charge the 12 volt batterysystem at any speed you have solar coming in.

The Pecron 500w charger only provides 414w max charging. Could I add this between the battery and the Pecron to increase the input so the output would be 500w?

Even better if using 3×12v batteries to avoid using the dc-dc converter

Thanks Jason. I've got a weird one that uses a 30 to 60 volt input but the maximum amperage seems to be less than 10. I can run 2 100 watt panels in series, but no more, and solar charging doesn't always kick on. I'm going to try charging it like this with a 48 volt 6 amp.

Is it better to do this over using an inverter to charge the power station?

Nice!! You always said you wanted to keep after it! And you are. Good find.

Why not just hookup an inverter to car battery and plug in power station to inverter like you would plug it into a wall outlet? Im genuinely asking because it seems some people do that. But then i see these dc to dc converter devices talked about as if they are needed. Im just curious. Still learning

I have those Daygreen units. 12v to 58v 580w for my Pecron E1500LFP and a 12v to 24v 720w for fridge, Bluetti power stations and many cigerette lighter units like USB chargers output higher wattage when run at 24V.

What the converter does is draw more amps to convert more volts. That is why the DC converter is one big heat sink.

What if you use SOLAR PANEL-->DC-DC 12-36v AC200M?

Would a mppt solar charge controller essentially do the same thing?

seems a legit concept. I tried some of the cheaper offerings but they just got too hot for comfortable usage. I just ordered a victron adjustable up converter rated for continuous usage. I figured adjustable is good to maximize the diffent device input limitations. should be a whole different level of experience. look forward to your testing.

Nice video, thank you. Is there any chance you could link us to the converter?
