Should be called Every Wrist You Break

Been playing guitar almost 50 years. I've not attempted this tune until recently. For me the movement of my first finger to the 3rd of that A2 chord is WAY harder than just holding the bar!

You have to be a Terminator to play this on acoustic.

Every stretch you take, every ligament you break...

Very similar stretches to the song Message in a Bottle. Deceivingly tough!! Andy Summers is underrated.

You should add a disclaimer that if someone break's his wrist - you're not responsible :D

I always remembered Andy Summers as a ES-335 player. There's a nice short video on YouTube (Andy Summers - Police guitar riffs) with him showing how he came into playing his style in "Message in a Bottle" and "Every Breath You Take" in their basic forms. It was really helpful for me in learning this song. Especially the "Message in a Bottle" part. Great stretching exercise if nothing else. Thanks Justin.

As always, a terrific lesson. Few people explain the tones, the effects and riffs the way you do. Cheers!

I remember my beginner guitar teacher in highschool 'taught' his class how to play Every Breath You Take. More like, "Here's a few beginners chords I put together." He told us it's just G, Em, C, D, and G repeated throughout the song with a down, down, down down down down strumming pattern. I always wonderes, what version did he hear?

This is the third time that i look at this tutorial and I thank you that you thoroughly explained all chords and the picking sequence for the different strings to make it close to the original. Great job.Thank God for you.

When ever I'm searching for how to play a particular song and I see Justin made a video on it, I immediately go to his video to learn. Such a great teacher!

By now, you are the best teacher on the web. Even when you speak, I listen to you without skipping in the video. Thank you so much!

That's how he does it! Like you, I thought it was all out of the barre chord shape and gave up. This does make it much easier, but the F#7 is still tough for me. You play it perfectly.

Great lesson! I've always loved this song (though none of my X's were ever worth stalking lol)

Awesome lesson. Good classic tune! Thank you Justin! You're the one to teach me how to play guitar while I'm online. Please, let there be The Who - Behind Blue Eyes as the next lesson. Thank you! Wish you all the best!
