I think a lot of people need to rewatch this fight. Dustin was absolutely not getting "his ass kicked" or "beaten to a pulp". BSD ended up on top solely due to the guillotine attempts. Every time they traded on the feet in round 1, Dustin landed a big shot. Dustin was never in any real danger and it was clear BSD was going to gas out fast. Round 2 came along and Dustin showed us just that... boxing is levels above BSD's and he waited for the shot perfectly. Without pulling guillotine, that first round wouldn't have convinced anyone that "BSD dominated"

Edit: Lets also not forget how biased Rogan's commentary was, which probably also convinced many viewers they were watching a completely different fight

This event broke the UFC's record for money made at the gate, everyone on YouTube saying it's one of the best cards of all time, I'm so glad I was able to be there and be a part of it. Couldn't ask for a better first UFC experience

Colby Covington vs Dustin seems a lot less one-sided now. But happy with a title shot too.

Btw that fight was like an 1980s action movie final fight. Like a Van Damme movie, or Die Hard or something. Poirier went through a war and looked like he saw a ghost. Somehow emerged victorious. When you could see BSD slow down you knew it was coming because Poirier has one heck of a gas tank, and power too.

Benoit appeared to have been on antibiotics, from that staph on his head.. he probably knew he had 2 rounds to get the job done. He deserves props for putting up his perfect record while comprimised, and not cancelling the fight

Everyone was counting Dustin out in that fight because he was fighting such a Savage up-and-coming fighter. But it was just like Raphael versus Justin everybody thought Justin was going to lose but look what happened there. These guys are true Warriors and there's a reason why they are still in the top five and they aren't going to give up their spots that easy. but it was a great fight for Dustin and I think he definitely deserves to be in the title hunt
