The fact that Cody set up camera's and then walked past them all in public cracks me up so much. I love it!

Please make a part 2 doing an overnight with nothing but that kit!

The rope you bought is jute rope and it is an amazing fire tender. I always have jute twine in my bug out bag as one of my many tender choices

The two cans also make an excellent tin can telephone set. Extra bonus.

I'm an old guy. Many, many, moons ago when I spent a great deal of time out doors. Waterproof boots did not exist. If they had I probably could not have afforded them. So using plastic bags over socks was a method I used often. Not an all day solution but better than nothing.

Cody, it may be time to pickup some new shades. It looks like you stole Mrs. W's LOL

At my local Dollar Store, I’ve seen a (5) pack of 39 gallon leaf bags for $1, which would provide a large amount of plastic yardage for roof, body, and ground cover. A plastic bag can also serve triple duty as a water proof container and fire starter.

That plastic table cloth you have could also be unpacked and tied into a water proof carry bag.

I did a similar challenge on my own, but I went to the Just-A-Buck store. Hints: Try a paint drop cloth (9'X 12") for a pretty decent-sized shelter. Rub the matches against the candle wax to make them at least water-resistant (too much wax loads the striker strip). A box of gallon-size ziplock bags for a waterproof package. The 2-knife selection was good, considering what they usually have available in those stores.

If you didn't have a knife u could use the top to the pork and brand container

Do you still carry a firearm? Please do an EDC update, I think that many of your subscribers would enjoy that.

Great Video, Cody, The major point being, a functional emergency kit is simple, easy and cheap. Since we put emergency kits in all our vehicles, we've used them several times for various things.

better than that table cloth, I found a 9 foot by 12 foot plastic drop cloth at Dollar Tree today

Can't think of any bases that aren't covered. I've been in dollar stores with different/ better options, but they also cost slightly more money so... Well done. I'd love to see Mrs. Wranglerstar and even Jack do the same test, as you mentioned. That'd be fun.

Great idea! I will say that I don't think that the orange table cloth will withstand a heavy downpour. I've had many a birthday party with those cloths, and they tear pretty easily. That particular store may not have had them in stock, but DG has a package of 7 large black trash bags for $1.00. You could even get the ones with the pull strings and use those for something. It probably would have covered more area when opened up and put together. Duck tape is a must. We'll have to try this for ourselves and see what we can do :) Can't wait to watch the Mrs.!
