I've had my SAAB Turbos go two hundred and three hundred thousand miles plus ..no engine or turbo issues. People driving the piss out of them and not maintaining them is the real issue here.

Dont want to buy a turbo vehicle but the thing is almost every newer vehicle is being turbocharged with smaller engines

Scotty Kilmer forgot to mention that turbocharged engines often require more frequent maintenance than naturally aspirated engines. More frequent engine oil change+oil filter as one example.

I have a 2016 Ford F150 w/a 3.5 EcoBoost engine. I change the oil every 7500 miles. It currently has 211, 000 miles on it, and is still going strong.

more servicing is the key...don't lug them and let them warm up and cool down and they will last..

Why do diesel trucks with turbochargers run up to a million miles?

I’m GenX and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. As much as I enjoy the performance of high horsepower, turbo chargers destroy engines early, especially if you don’t know how to maintain them and guaranteed if you drive like your on Fast & Furious 😂

"GM is crap. Ford is crap. Dodge is crap. Ram is crap. Toyota is bankrupt. Honda is bankrupt." Depends on wind direction and tidal influence. Give it a rest

Turbo charged cars increases wear when turbo starts to malfunction. Increase in air will make the ecu calculate to increase more fuel to get the ratio correct. To maintain your turbo make sure you regularly do oil change and do not wait too long

I bought a new WRX a year ago. I'm doing everything I know to make it last as long as possible. Even though I'm 62 years old so that probably won't be much of an issue. Warm it up, cool it down, and all the other crazy things that go with owning a turbocharged vehicle. I'm changing the oil every 3, 000 mi. and it surprisingly looks pretty dirty . Other than that I'm going to have fun with it. The thing is just a blast when the turbo kicks in. And it handles great on the twisties. On top of it all, it's a year-round driver. I actually like it better than my 19 Mustang GT. It's just more engaging and definitely set up for cornering better than the Mustang. There are things I miss about the Mustang but I would still choose the WRX over it. Got a pretty good deal on it at $29, 000.

The older the vehicle the better the quality.

I prefer V6 naturally aspirated engines over turbo charged 4 bangers. Maybe it's luck but I typically get 350-400k miles on my NA V6s with basic maintenance.
