Just like in Vietnam, the taliban knew exactly what to do. Wait the U.S out!

Ashraf Ghani: I have a plan.
Biden: The Afghan president has said it. He has a plan. Don't panic!
Ashraf Ghani: I have a plan ... to escape.

I feel awful for all the girls and women still stuck there. I cannot imagine that level of fear.

I agree we needed to get out, but the extraction has been a disaster. We shouldn’t have left the safety of diplomats and allies in the hands of the Afghan military. What a disgrace.

I'm 100% in support of leaving Afghanistan. We didn't leave weapons behind for the Taliban. We left weapons behind for the Afghanistan army. We left 20 years of training at their disposal. We did not fail Afghanistan. Afghanistan failed Afghanistan.

I disagree with almost everything Biden says and does, but I AGREE with him 100% on his decision to pull out of Afghanistan. He is right, we will not work harder than the Afghanis for their own freedom. As heartbreaking as it is to see that country quickly overrun by the Taliban, we cannot push them across a threshold they are unwilling to cross themselves. I wouldn’t want my son or daughter to die on behalf of a country whose own leaders are unable to expunge the corruption in their own organizations and summon the conviction necessary to banish the Taliban.

Afghanistan’s government falling in 2 weeks really shows how much of a waste of 20 years we spent in there.

I'm not a supporter of Biden at all. But I stand with him on this.

The Afghanistan government had 20 yrs to get ready for the withdrawal of the U.S. military and to have a standing Army in place to defend themselves.Sorry for the people of Afghanistan but this on you.

CNN: The Taliban's take over was mostly peaceful

Biden is right. It wouldnt make any difference of when we leave. Taliban is just waiting knowing we cant stay forever. This would of happened under any president. Might as well leave now. Just sucks to see those people suffer.

He has a point, it’s been 20 years, at the same time I’m sad for Afghanistan.

I have to say, Mr Biden does a good job making the case for leaving. If Afghani forces don't put up a fight for their own country, why should the West?

I think the left will love this version of their song. It’s been so dear to their hearts for over 50 years. “Hey hey. Ho ho, Senile Joe has got to go.”

You can’t fight for people who aren’t willing to fight for themselves

Been there two decades, helped train and find their military, and they want to keep draining our military. The Afghanis should have been fighting this battle on their own for years

Anyone who didn't see this coming as far back as 2010 is either a child or extremely ignorant about the whole situation. This was always the end result, we just didn't know what day. Now we do, it was 08/14/21

I'm not pissed at why we pulled out of Afghanistan. I'm dissapointed in the leadership about how it went and how bad the execution was.
How will other nation will ever believe our resolve. Japan ? South-Korea ? Taiwan ? who is next to fall victim ?

I don’t like most of Biden’s policy but this I support, no more being the police to other nations

Half these pissed off people are the same ones who at some point over the past 10 years have said we need to bring our soldiers home... you just didn't think about the consequence, now you're seeing it and your like oh no... how could this happen.... smh
