it was so infuriating. where did they GET those 90's jackets before the big final battle? was there a shopping mall at the forbidden city?

Agreed. I didn't even make it halfway through. A lot of the costumes looked like upcycled thrift store finds.

This sums up the weekly furious texts I shot back and forth with a friend.

There were some things I liked about the show... but the costuming was indeed a hot mess. And Greyson and Boorman were easily the best part. EASILY. Like, your idea about them on OFMD... I'm into that. Let's just do that.

So. Some of the hodgepodge we might attribute to the fact we're looking at multiple cultures at play, so the style might very well be different. Willow's attire has that sort of rustic "make use of what we have" feel to it that works, I think, for a Nelwyn. We have Graydon, who is a visiting noble, so would have different attire, and Boorman, who is also not from Tir Asleen originally, and has a different sense of fashion-appropriate.

It still doesn't save the costuming from being a total dumpster fire, though. Zippers on Kit's vest? Sigh. I feel like they took the nugget of a good story, and then waited till the last minute and sorta just rushed through production like a college student trying to finish a term paper. The movie had a right proper fantasy soundtrack. The series? One of the producer's Spotify playlists. Anachronistic language to play to the kids, and as we all seem to agree, wardrobe choices that seemed to be, "I dunno... see what's in that closet over there..."

I really *really* want to like this series. And I'll likely watch the next season. But I think Disney really missed with this one.

I really enjoyed the show, but the clothes drew me out time and time again so I just decided to ignore it🤷‍♀

I'd forgotten this was going to exist, but it sounds like absolute trash and garbage and I need to watch all of it.

Terrible show. It was made to make money.

Lol the last scene! Also, there are SO many great fantasy books out there. Make some new content! Stop trying to make money off nostalgia!
