Fun fact: the Caps and the Stars trail only the Bruins as the NHL teams with the most wins in the 21st century. very impressive performance from DC, some hard-nosed basic fundamental hockey on show.

After an ugly 1st, the Caps seemed to come to life.
Going over half the period without a SOG and a SHG against most likely sinks any confidence the guys might have had.

Give credit to Spencer for regrouping the guys.

Also, give credit to the Stars.
They played good enough to win themselves.
DeSmith made some outstanding saves to keep the game close.
