"I know this isn't my property, and I just sit here shooting dope all day, and I also declined the offer for drug treatment, but the police coming here is just bullshit." You tell 'em, sister!

The reason they declined the help is because they want to do drugs!!!

Book and release another junkie....WTF. Keep moving the two blocks every day until the city trash is gone. Citizens /taxpayers want our city back.
Can that happen to Ted Wheeler & Dan Ryan too. Move along.... No compassion for the "leaders" that have let this continue for years.

The property is ODOT’s. “ I respect that”. Do you?

When my street gets cleared, I feel better. I sleep better. But the clear never lasts. I miss the way the city used to be

Yep, the city is running out of time to clean itself up and start attracting workers and businesses back to the central business district. The city - and all its residents and businesses - and other Oregonians living outside the city who would just like to come in to visit and enjoy a clean and functioning city - can't continue to be held hostage by a small number of folks with serious issues living on sidewalks. Provide help, sure, but not by allowing Portland to be turned into something out of a third world country. City's gotta put the foot down and set boundaries of what's acceptable.

I used to love going over to Portland. It was a gorgeous City. Lots of fun. Now it’s a trash heap

If you have a warrant, this means suspected criminal, and legal arrest authorized. What is confusing? Camp designated for cleanup, noticed provided. Also, authorized.

One corner clear, you got about a whole city left to go. This is going to take forever.

When you're in this situation you should be required to accept help. Not as punishment but as assistance. Most drug addicts won't just 'decide' they want help. They must be pulled into it. I feel for these folks, but the fact is they are taking the city away from everyone else who lives here and pays taxes. It's not fair.

"I choose drugs over a sober, safe place to sleep" how does anyone have sympathy for that?

90 % of these people ARE NOT FROM HERE

This started to be a real problem in the US in the 1980s when the Supreme Court decided that if they aren't a danger to the public or themselves, they could not be involuntarily held in a mental health facility.
