You need to go to the 50’s to have them say they didn’t want their daughter’s listening to Elvis. They would break his records and on the Ed Sullivan show, they would show him from the waist up because of his moves. If you want to know the power of Elvis, look up his discography to find out how many records he sold. How many gold and platinum records he has. I say has because it is still ongoing!

Elvis went into a Cadillac dealer to pick up a new Caddy, there was a couple there working out the repayments on a car, Elvis told the salesperson to put their car on his bill,
Generous and awesome

Here I am, a metal guy, but my mom played Elvis incessantly growing up, and to this day, Suspicious Minds is my favorite Elvis track. The bass line, drums going nuts during the crescendo, backup singers harmonizing ahahahaaah...perfect!

"Shove it up your nose".

The best ever.

Elvis was the most famous person in the world. His Vegas attendance records still haven't been beaten, he's sold over 1.5 billion records (worldwide more than anyone) and his Aloha from Hawaii concert was seen by almost 1/3 of the worlds population. He was unmatched.

Elvis recorded over 700 songs, made 31 movies and was the first solo artist to have his live performance shown round the world via satellite.

I'm a hard rock guy, but Elvis was THE MAN. Greatest performer of all time, not my favorite but him being the greatest is undeniable. His performances of " Unchained Melody" and "How Great Thou Art, " are legendary.

Lots of comments here about the Bass player, Jerry Scheff .... when James Burton was putting together Elvis's Vegas Band, he invited Jerry to come down. Scheff was a jazz/blues fan, and not that keen on Elvis but agreed to come, just before leaving he told his wife, " I'm not taking the gig, but I'll get to meet Elvis " within an hour, she received a call, " Get yourself down here, this guy is unbelievable " . She reluctantly agreed to come but she too was converted, " He simply blew her away with his talent, just blew both of us away ! " he later wrote !!

My Granny was literally in love with Elvis. Good thing she never met and ran away with him because I probably wouldn’t exist. 😂

Elvis was THE FIRST rock star, superstar, ICON. and phenomenon. That's why he was labeled the King of Rock and Roll at the age of 21. He influence practically everyone since 1956 onwards. Elvis and rock and roll impacted the Civil Rights movement that begin shortly after his explosion.

Yes he was the first superstar. My Mom saw him play a 16 year old girls birthday party, on his first tour. At Plainview Texas. She is 84 an still gets all jittery when she hears him.
