133 actual miles! All original survivor in excellent condition. This car was part of the Devan Lowe collection. He owns a chain of new car dealerships and put away several special cars including this one. This car wasn't even titled until 2020! The window sticker is still in the window!

Corvette celebrated it's 25th anniversary by creating a limited edition Pace Car. Only 1 car per dealer (6,200) would be produced. The package included an incredible color scheme in and out and a list of features including glass tops and aluminum wheels. The Pace Car option added a whopping $4,300 to the $9,351 base price. The demand was so high for these cars they were selling for way over sticker. Today they are still in high demand and continue to appreciate in value much better than most other cars from that era.

EXTERIOR: One of the best survivors I've seen. Overall it shows really well for a 45 year old car. The body has no damage. The rubber bumpers and spoilers are not cracked. They nailed it with these colors. The paint is claimed to be all original and it is shiny. I did not notice any scratches, cracks or rub throughs. The red striping and Pace Car decals are mint. The glass is crystal clear. The window sticker and EPA sticker have never been removed from the window. The black moldings are not flaking. The glass t-tops are not cracked. The weatherstrips are still soft. The wheels still look great. They are still bright and the paint is not flaking. The original tires were recently replaced with BFGs, they are included with the car.

INTERIOR: My dad bought one of these when I was a kid and I thought I was sitting in a space ship because of the silver interior. It's really sharp looking. Practically brand new, yet it's all original. The leather is still soft, the leather steering wheel is mint. Door panels, dash area, plastic trim is all mint. Never smoked in, lighter was never used. It has the factory 8-track player. The starting instructions are still on the visors, original sticker is still on bottom of the t-top. The light color carpet still looks great.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Of course it's the original #s match 350 motor with original components. Only a couple hoses, belts, oil change and a/c service has been performed It's very, very clean. It features air conditioning, cruise control, power steering and brakes.

UNDERSIDE: It has an extremely well preserved original underside. The assembly line paint markings, tags and grease pen writing is still very well preserved throughout. The exhaust is still original including the catalytic converter and GM mufflers. All the components look good, bushings look good. The factory finishes are still very good for a survivor, it has not been painted over. The spare tire carrier still has original spare. These cars feature independent suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes. It has it's vin # matching Turbo 350 trans and original rear end.

The 78 Pace Car is a stunning Corvette. The combination of colors in and out, glass tops, polished wheels really make is a pleasure to look at. This is one of the best examples that exists today. A car can only be original once! These will hit 6 figures, just a matter of when.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

_Granted the '78 Pace cars are not hot like they were when brand new, yet this car is brand new at 133 miles. Worth every single penny for this Corvette, Jay. (That 1978 hot equated to these cars selling for 25 large, then they shot up even higher into the stratosphere). Great find, and great buy right here!_

12:30 Question answered. How many were made in this year? 6, 200 were made. One for each Dealership.

I remember when they were selling brand new for about $25, 000 due to the demand, which was insanely expensive back in 78_ 79
But as far as investment, it was a dud, just like many other pace cars from other divisions that followed

Was there anything unique about the Pace Car compared to a special order Corvette besides the Paint and Decals?

Ha! I'm getting damn good at guessing prices. Before the video started, I guessed $39, 995 and then I clicked the link and saw that it was 10K more and my first thought was "Well Jay, it had better have less than 20, 000 miles on it and be pretty minty for your asking price" and BAM! Nailed it!

I guess decades growing up around cars helped. Ive been out for 10 years or so, but seeking out my dream "retirement" muscle car/hot rod/classic has had me pricing them for the last couple of years and let me tell you, I'm on my game.

I will also tell you that VoloCars is the ONLY company that prices both well and consistent. I visit dozens of other sites, try and guess their prices based on the product and it is hit and miss.

Why?

Because I think a lot of other places don't have the experience that you have but also, a lot of other shops figure if they get an exceptional car in inventory they will ask the moon and hope for a schmuck that doesn't know any better to pay 20-30% over what it's worth.

Most of the cars that come into Volo are exceptional. The difference is no matter what the car is, you have the expertise and ethics to ask only what it's worth. And that is why you have such high turnover. You have earned it, uphold it, and continue to deliver it.

There are a lot of places that sell a lot of great cars. In my opinion Volo does it with the greatest integrity.

Don't be surprised if I come out of retirement and feel some rambling in my shoes, that I don't put in an application to your shop.

I've been around long enough to know the best when I see it.

Cheers and keep it up!
