I would say it should be filled with dirt or sand and stone so it would not be hazardous. And also water can seppage through the walls which eventually mean the tunnels can become again functionable.

I think it kind of strange that in a country where electricity is not that great and water is probably as valuable as gold they use it to flood tunnels in war

Every city or large town needs some underground tunnels. It really adds to the atmosphere

I don’t know the type of sediment or how deep these tunnels go, but these, when you fill them up with water may be able to cause sinkholes

When they step inside they found two komatsu tunnel digging machine, I believe those are expansive gear.
