How very dare you suggest that The Hoff didn't tear down that goddamn wall with his bare voice.
channel
He does not think he brought down the wall, Einstein. He just feels honored to have helped bring hope to those in East Germany before it came down. FREEDOM
AmoristEclectic
No one thinks he brought it down.
We all know it

As a German myself, I can assure you that his song didn't bring down the wall, but it was something that connected with the passion for freedom in the people, that's why it was 8 weeks long no 1like he said. So it had technical a minor part in it all, I'll give him that. We Germans still love our Hoff, he's just adorable ❤️

He shattered that wall down with his amazing vocals and don’t you ever forget it!

Thank you confirming what I already know. The Hoff dropped the worst, out of the barn, Harley moto, eagle blazing freedom song. The timing was perfect. No other Hollywood shyte or ambassador of more shyte was there. Germans of this time period REVERE this song. He was more significant than I ever realized. Und zee SCORPIONS
Postmortumaz
He never said that. He has said the opposite.

I dare anyone here to go into a time machine, go to the berlin wall, sing about freedom while wearing a piano scarf and a leather jacket with flashing lights on it and come out unscathed. you can't beat that level of badass.
professorpenne
He literally tore it down with his bare hands.
Techncian
He and KITT tore the wall
down together in a KnightRider special episode.
Tempaest
without him the wall would probably still be there

+ODE - pardon us, but where is it in this video, that david mentions he thinks that he brought down the berlin wall? He never did and more importantly +DavidHasselhoff DOESN'T think he brought the berlin wall down.

If any musician had a role in the eventual fall of the wall it would be David Bowie in 1987 when he played Berlin and sang "Hero's". It was so loud east Germans on the other side could be heard singing along even while border guards were beating them back. Later bowie remarked that it broke his heart when he heard them singing along but couldn't join in because of the wall in between. The aggressive brutality used by the east german police to stop the singing was a big part in the change of mood of the citizens toward the east german government.
CYCLONE
Ronald Reagan said it, Mr. Hasselhoff tear down this wall and he did

If it came down to a single moment, a single song, a single performance……David Hasselhof would be the greatest musician of all time and I can conceive of no one else, ever, who could top him. One of the greatest moments in world history and he was there to usher it in.

Wow, this is actually pretty pathetic:
Not only has he explicitly stated over and over again in interviews (all over YouTube, for anyone who actually cares) that he "had nothing to do with the end of the Berlin Wall" (as if that were even a remote possibility), at no point does he say or even imply it in this interview.
I guess some folks simply don't care about facts, let alone about slandering and damaging the reputations of people they don't even know. That's pretty sad and not even close to being funny.
stephans.
The Hoff single handedly tore down the wall
r.michaelterry
As a singer he was first number one in Austria with Night Rocker.
afflictionmahocias
Even in the Hoffs museum there is a plaque that says he tore down the wall himself. So must be true

The title of this video is completely incorrect. He doesn’t make that claim in this video and I’ve never seen him make that claim.
