The episode where Howard's mother dies had the biggest emotional impact to me. The shock on everyone's faces when he breaks the news was heartbreaking and everyone rallying around him with moral support was so heartwarming.

Many emotionally abusive or neglectful parents might not even realise that they ARE being abusive, and while Leonard acknowledges that Beverly doesn't deserve his forgiveness, he still chooses to anyway.
