REBOOTS and REMAKES: Does Any Franchise Get It Right? The Nostalgia Cash-Ins

Is it just me, or does the Hollywood writer's strike seem like an underground revolution that has only recently come to the surface? I say this because we have endured far too many remakes, reboots, and additions to franchises, and it suspiciously appears that studios are running out of original ideas.
And who creates these original ideas? The writers do. So, where are the writers? They are carrying picket signs down Hollywood's alleyways or main streets, demanding fair wages and regulation of this streaming cartel and its impact on their income?
All this rebooting, remaking, and bloated franchising could be unrelated, but it genuinely seems like studios are running short on original ideas. Hear me out:

Wow, great video. I mainly agree with all of this. I'm an artist/musician personally and as career, and I love film and good storytelling. I discovered this video looking at something else, and kind of related. So many videos on film, getting harder to find something fresh, interesting...and you did it. It all comes down to is the work being done for artistic or financial reasons. If someone has a vision to create a sequel/reboot/remake, I'm interested in that.

Lion King is just Hamlet, West Side Story is just Romeo and Juliet. Those are both incredible pieces of art and in some ways might even surpas the original.

I know that some of the movies didn't work well over the past few years because of cgi, cast performance, screenplay, the box office, remakes, rotten tomatoes and many more. But alot of these people work very hard to entertain us, and I really like Fast and Furious franchise, especially many other action films back then.

Except the Transformers reboot directed by Michael Bay with Mark Wahlberg were more like forced sequels to the 3 Transformers movies directed by Michael Bay with Shia LaBeouf.
