What's is an APU ? | Auxiliary Power Unit

Almost all commercial aircrafts have an APU. The Auxiliary Power Unit is on board all aircraft to ensure that there is always power in the event of a main engine failure or an independent power source for the aircraft on the ground. Over time APUs have become more advanced and now perform many functions beyond just pumping up the air conditioning.
