After the banlist hit, I knew for sure: "That's one small step for Suships, one giant leap for the Gunkan Gang." 🌊🍣

The ban list didn't change much but I'm glad they are going in the right direction.

Grass is a realistic going 2nd option just like Felis can be for Tearlament but we don't have enough good mills a.k.a cards that get you more interruptions to realistically facilitate a 60 card Tear or Lightsworn deck but with Phantom of Yubel, the Fiendsmith engine for Pilgrim Reaper and Caesar, and Needlebug Nest + Transaction Rollback I could see a 54 or 55 card version being consistent enough. But I don't know I've tested Tearlament with a Phantom of Yubel engine and the Fiendsmith engine and 42-45 cards seem to be the version that seems like there is almost 0 chances of bricking. I think 60 card decks is a fun concept but without enough targets to say that if I don't get this and this interruption I'll still have this and this one its more than likely for fun and won't equal to any real competitive success.
It would probably a idea I would dabble online or if I had a locals I would probably play it at locals but I would never take a deck so much more designed around fun than winning to a tournament. I'm not saying that I would play the same deck over and over again for multiple tournaments but whatever deck I would play would be at its most optimal state. When I deck build I deck build to see how unbeatable I can make decks. That is my thrill with deck building and testing. If it makes people quit the game it is what it is.

Thank you for this video, it's great to have a pro showing the effects of a banlist, and how well positioned the previous meta decks are. I struggle with that.

The thing with Nibiru is super important; if that handtrap becomes exponentially powerful after the ban on Apollousa, then the current, and future meta decks might have an actual weakness!

Those decks usually have a much higher ceiling, it's hard to break through them, stop them, are super consistent, or super reliable.

Nothing short of something ridiculous like Dark Ruler + Evenly, Shifter + Mulcharmy, or Droll would even the field. Unfair blowouts.

But now, lower tiered decks might have a chance at being competitive if the player is skilled enough.

For example, Traptrix can defend themselves from Nibiru with Rafflesia; there can be many other decks like it that can play around things the higher tiered decks struggle with.

Nibiru will succed in that which Maxx C coped to: "Keep the meta in check".

We're in a period where 3 Nibiru, and 3 Crossout is awkward to run, but it could happen in the future, and another good thing is that many other handtraps are still effective, with new ones coming every so often, so it won't center everything around itself like Maxx C does.

I think yugioh is a few steps away from stabilizing a healthier competitive environment. Huge improvement!

Of course, this is the usual peak, we've been here a couple of times already; Konami would have to do lists similar to this one, while also restraining themselves from overpowering new releases.

Powercreep, featurecreep, those are natural, and can be acceptable, but much of what Konami released, just, isn't.

Even though Beatrice was B.S. I wish burning abyss got new support, they got dope artwork.

This may sound silly, but a way that playing around nib is the adventure package since its fairly small to run and it does end in an omni negate

I’m surprised Gimmick Puppet wasn’t mentioned but to be fair the deck is not considered a winner, loser or stayed the same.

They took a hit with the FTK losing C40 but the FTK is not dead.

Btw congratulations on winning worlds Jesse!

I may be wrong but, a lot of non stun, non grass rogue decks, lost a losing goddess bow. Some decks don’t just have archtype negates goddess bow was great for that

Lightsworn is one of the most fun decks ever played, a grass version of that would be great.

Could you do Infernoid SE, I see it as a great addition to the meta with the link 4 being a great interruption with the ability to have 2-4 more with different names it puts up a solid fight and has a fun play pattern

grass goes nicely with traps cards + transaction rollback

I’d like to applaud you for that Brilliant OTK deckout you did against double noir in the Preliminaries, that was without question the highlight for me.

I believe something like 46/47 Card Tearlaments is probably the right call to make grass good, espacially since cards like tearlaments grief increase the count but keep the consistency and by that you keep seeing grass realistic while stilll keeping good mill ratios.
