Shayne (Me): (as she is helping her father fix his invention) Papa, guys, do you think I'm odd?
The Lightfoot Family: (look up at Shayne, curious about the reason she asked that question) Odd?
Ian: No, of course not.
Barley: We don't think you're odd.
Casey: My daughter? Odd? Where'd you get an idea like that?
Shayne (Me): Oh, I don't know. (gives her father the tool) It's just that I'm not sure I fit in here. There's no one I can really talk to.
Casey: What about that Marcus? He's a handsome fella.
Angel: As in, that guy who was talking to Shayne earlier?
Maddie: (answers her niece's question) Yes.
Shayne (Me): He's handsome alright. And rude and conceited and .... Oh, guys, he's not for me.
Ian: I don't blame you, Shayne. And judging by what we saw him do and what we heard him say to you earlier, he does seem like a big jerk.
Casey: (to his daughter) Well, don't you worry. 'Cause this invention is gonna be that start of a new life for us.
