Here are some tips for new reaper players:
1. NEVER use wraith to engage and dont teleport directly into the enemy team either. Teleport to the side and save your wraith for the very last second.
2. If youre in a 1v1 and you feel like you’re about to run out of ammo, use wraith form. But dont cancel it immediately or wait out the full duration. Instead, mix it up so you catch them off guard.
3. If you want to use your ult, try to provoke abilities that counter it first, like sleep, reflect or matrix.
4. Dont try to be a hero by trying to win mismatches like these. Immediately teleport to your team if youre fighting against someone that counters you

Sigma is pretty good too, especially with the damage to outdo his healing if you are good enough.

Roadhog’s hook also cancels Reaper’s ultimate. I learned this the hard way…

Reapers game plan is about in and out movement with concentrated bursts or damage. For this reason Lucio is the best pick to counter him. With sound barrier you can negate his ult and his boop allows you to juggle his ult away if he is jumping off high ground. Not to mention boop can bu used to push him off your tank or supports long enough for dps to peel and force him away or kill him. Plus your speed boost can help move your other support who is being charged closer to the team long enough for them to recover. And to top it off he is kinda small and mobile making him hard to hit as reaper

As a zen main, another pro tip when attempting to last minute boop when he ults. Try not to boop reaper up as his ult still covers below him as well.
