We have spent some time over the past few months, watching a number of small scale crisis breaking out across the world, including a supply chain breakdown, food and other essential supply shortages, rising inflation, rising energy prices, a very fragile economy, rising unemployment and key worker shortages.

As winter approaches, all of these smaller crisis events are building up and coming together to threaten a full blown global crisis, so the key question you should be asking yourself is . . . . .

As far as alternate heating, other than 2 small electric room heaters, we have none in this 100-year-old house which is heated by propane. We are renters and solar is not possible here. We do have winter gear because we live in Minnesota. Gasoline prices have also risen in the past 3 weeks. We were at 2.99 a gallon and I paid 3.14 a gallon a few days ago. Everything is on the rise except wages.

I've got 2 acres and a small ride on mower. Still takes 2 and a half hours to mow. I'd love to know about your mowing situation. It's my biggest pain in the arse

Hi,

Just because the Debit is classified as “unsecured” doesn’t mean when the bailiffs call they can’t take it away, they’ll grab anything they think they’ll get some money for, which is most likely a lot lower than the open market rate let alone what the original purchase price was.

Having worked for a Charity supporting people with debt issues, I wouldn’t wish the harassment and intimidation from bailiffs on anyone.

The vast majority of the people we helped where just victims of circumstance, be it redundancy, end of company sick pay, loss of main wage earner.

I would encourage everyone with debit to consider if their employment / earnings ended what would they do?

Having the latest iPhone at £40 per month would be a massive hit if all you have each month is Universal Credit.

FWIW I'm not seeing any price rises of supermarket goods here in the south. I'm very surprised by that TBH.

Regarding gas, price has also jumped by 10p in a week for no apparent reason. After the recent fuel 'crisis' the price actually dropped.
