Voulisma beach is the second of the three bays in the village Istron about 12km east of Agios Nikolaos and 22km north of Ierapetra in Crete island.
Voulisma beach is also known as Golden beach cause the white sand gives the waters a turquoise color such a tropical beach.
It is a well organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports, lifeguard, mini market, bar for drinks and coffee, WC, shower and free parking, so it attracts locals and tourists. During summer weekends it's crowded.Unfortunately, when there is north wind you will come across some trash over the sea surface.
