Anker PowerCore+ works real well. 26800mah (max that’s TSA compliant) and has 45W PD. Bought it originally for my switch and now with the steam deck I’m glad I got more than I needed.

I can't pick up a Steam Deck until October 2022 so all of your videos about it have been keeping me patient. Please continue to make lots of videos about it.

I've been using Baseus for a year now and I must say I'm really impressed by its quality. Can't go wrong with it.

I've had the Baseus 65w bank since Christmas and I completely agree with ETA that its a great performer. I've been using it to charge my 45w Chromebook(Acer Spin 311 gen 2). Endurance and charging speed is great and havent noticed a difference in the 6 months I've owned it capacity wise.

I have a Limefuel 24000mAh/91.2Wh, that thing is a beast, so I'm set.
There's only the minor issue of not having a Steam Deck.

I use the Xiaomi Power Bank 3 Pro which has 45W PD input/output. It's 20000mAh and I got it on a sale for relatively cheap, and it can charge my 45W laptop no problem. It can also output additional ~5-6W of power via regular USB ports when it already outputs 45W via PD. And of course it has passthrough charging so it can output at 5V/1.5A while charging. It's a very good quality powerbank and I've had no problems with it for the past 8 months.

Here's my idea for the Deck: A custom backshell with an Power-bank and USB-C hub integrated all in one fit between the handgrip.
I know it would make the Deck a lot heavier, but i also think it would make good use of the space!

I got a 20, 000 mah battery pack at walmart on clearance for $20 and charges at 65watt fast charging via usbc. Absolutely love it and got lucky.

Thanks for this. I'm not due to get a Steam Deck until Christmas, but I'm constantly getting ripped off by battery packs. The last one I bought (some no name ChanTech thing) claimed 30, 000 mAh but the performance was nothing like. It felt heavy enough, but even it's own digital display was inaccurate and the thing would run out of juice even thought it claimed it was 50% full. So I took it apart and the bulk of the weight was made up of steel blocks! So very useful to have a guide on battery packs to avoid and what to look out for.

I would like to see someone trying t mod a battery bank like this into the chassi, maybe making a custom backplate, since the deck is pretty thin, a custom backplate that is thicker, and then you can fit the battery pack in the back
don't know if its possible, but if it is, it would be nice lol

Good info. I just bought two of those 65W Baseus, after getting one unit and torture-testing it. (Wanted for my Pinesil 60W USB-c soldering iron. Works grear!) Tested with a dell and a macbook laptop with USB-c 65W power. Perfect. (20V out at 3.25A measured at highest power) Also love that superquick charge. most 20, 000ma battery banks take 8hrs or so. This thing stays cool and fills up in 70-90 mins.

Walmart had some 65W USB-C chargers on sale, and they work great with both the soldering iron and charging this pack. Amazon had coupon on them as well...

I test a _lot_ of lithium batteries and packs, and these really were great. Still haven't pulled a full capacity test, yet, tho. Pretty close from what I've seen so far. A solid, very useful pack for charging most anything. And the quick recharge is better than any other one I've seen. By far. Good stuff!

A lot of battery banks out there are pretty much just scams. Overstated capacity, overstated output capability. Thanks for all the great content! Stu the technerd..

On the Anker battery pack you have to hold down the button so it goes into a different charge mode for more power.

I’d have been interested to see you test the high capacity Anker units like their Powerbank 737, 537 or 535 which are actually intended for charging laptops, unlike the phone focused anker unit you tested in this video.

The TLDR Baseus has a 30000 capacity version but thats a little over the plane limit if you plan to travel. It sits at 111 wats per hr when planes limit 100 watt hrs. The 20000 capacity version is the one to go since it sits at 74 watt hrs 👍

I just bought the 20000 capacity one and it comes in black if you don’t like the blue :)

Just ordered the Baseus charger for my Steam Deck and Switch. The cheaper LICORNE charger I have wasn't capable of fast-charging, so I needed something to charge my Deck while I take my Dad to the cancer center (where we can be there for at least an hour).

I actually ordered another power bank, an 40, 000 mAh Anker 437 which IS capable of fast-charging, but only at 30W. I've put in a cancellation request for that but if it doesn't go through... well, then I'll have TWO power banks: The Baseus for the Steam Deck and Switch and the Anker for all my other devices.

So an interesting thing that I just tested (with my 45W PD Anker power bank)! If the device is in sleep mode or the 30fps cap is in place then it will play and charge at nearly full speed but if you try and run a game with the 60fps cap or uncapped framerate it can just barely keep up and it will discharge the Steam Deck battery still (slower than not being plugged in or course though). Haven't seen anyone else report this yet so I figured I'd post it here. Found this when I played a power hungry game like Elden Ring. Notably, if you play a less demanding game like a modern indie title (I tested Bloodroots) then you can not only run at 60fps while charging but it will also charge FASTER than something like Elden Ring at even 30fps.
