I love going to the junkyards, and the pick your tools & thrash. Sometimes you see cars in good shape, and go nuts. But you see a vehicle that you know, you see it. You said it best. Check your peripherals, and your gauges.

I know how you feel brother! I had to repair the front end of a Cascadia that killed a motorcycle rider in a head on collision. Creepy vibes!

A very well stated consideration of the bigger picture. Good down to earth sentiment. Enjoy the good days, get through the tough ones

Had something similar at the International dealer i worked at that had a wrecker. It was the week before Christmas and one person didn't make it. It was heartbreaking.

I was a left lane legend back in the late 90’s when I first started driving. Hammer down everywhere. Got pulled over one night in the Nebraska but a none to pleased trooper. Read me up and down and then produced a folder of those instant photos of nothing but dead and mangled truck drivers and four wheeler drivers. The human body don’t hold up well mashed between tonnes of metal . Scared the Super Trucker right out me. Because of that trooper I’m probably still kicking and more importantly some innocent driver I would have collected in my effort to be the dumbass of the decade nominee .

Had a fleet we did work for, Had brand new at the time. KW T200 with cats in them. They had a driver die, in one of them and wasn't found for a couple of days sitting in a rest stop. They had a hasmat cleaner clean it then sent it to us to strip it down for a parts truck.

Yeah, as a volunteer firefighter in a snow belt we see the harsh realities as well. It just makes us human and appreciate our families more.

I was with my dad one summer (former 88Mike and OTR driver) and we were, I think in Colorado. Well there was a bone yard near the truck stop, which had to tractors which I believe were from the same company because they were by the same manufacturer, and had the same style white cab with green horizontal stripes. One tractor had the driver side of the cab smashed in so badly, I do not beleive the driver made it. Its twin had the passenger side smashed in as well, in the same severity as the first.

It was very sobering.

The 10 between Tucson and Pheonix and Wilcox and Lordsburg are infamous for summer time dust storms and my dad has said he's seen burnt out hulks of tractor/trailers in those areas. Funny, he was never deployed to Iraq in 91' yet still got to see that stuff.

Brandon, I appreciate your love for trucks.

Gotta pray! Someone suffered there, possibly lost their life. Pray that they were in a state of Grace and received the deepest mercy of the Lord.

My grandpa had a truck come in like that. They found the driver curled between the wheel and the pedals. Nothing worse that scratches and bruises.
