I have a standard poodle with an all one length cut. Because she is not groomed with the traditional top knot and pom poms, people are always surprised to learn that she is a poodle. I too was prejudiced against poodles before actually adopting one because of my fur allergies. They are smart, even tempered, and so athletic. They are eager to please, and so intuitive. Poodle lover converted forever!

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO. We have been blessed with many Standard Poodles for more than 40+yrs. Now due to injuries to my spinal cord, neck, head & brain I was awarded my Standard Poodle Wounded Warrior Service Dog, THUNDER, a male 80 lbs of all muscle who is 29.4" at his withers and absolutely brilliant. He was specialized in a wide variety of Mobility Tasks and after he helped me relearn how to walk with a cane, we added Therapy training so he & I could visit sick kids and Vets who are hospitalized.

Kudos on this video!

Steven & "Great and Mighty THUNDER Cloud Mien Aid Supreme" his AKC & WWSD REGISTERED name,
But it's easier to just call him Thunder.

I hate hate hate when people use poodles as their canvas 2:53. Imagine how long the poor dog has to stay still in order for some self-absorbed person to do their "art." If you really have the need to do grooming artwork, get a stuffed animal to work on.

Poodles are the most wonderful breed in the world, IMHO. I rescued one many years ago and fell absolutely in love with the breed. I love that they're brainiacs, that they're hypoallergenic and that they don't shed. I love that they come in all sizes and colors and that they're extremely trainable. And if you keep them clipped in a puppy cut instead of those fancy hairdos they are required to wear in the dog shows, they are a treat for the eyes.

Don’t judge a book by its cover — Poodles might look like frou-frou pups, but they were actually bred to hunt. Poodles hail from Germany, where they were called pudel, which is German for “puddle.” While poodles today have connotations of wealth and luxury, they were bred to work. The athletic dogs are excellent swimmers and were used by hunters to retrieve ducks and other birds from the water. They have a “soft mouth, ” so they can gently pick up wounded or dead game without damaging it. In France, the dogs were called caniche, or “duck dog.”

2:56 I hate when they are created as "artwork". They are born perfect folks. So, leave the pups alone.

#6: There is no such thing as a “teacup poodle” which is just a marketing term used by some (often unscrupulous) breeders. The dog is a toy poodle.
