I think deciding what programming language to learn first totally depends on what your interests are and what you plan to do in the future. For example, if you just want to casually want to learn programming and do some basic projects, Python is great! You don’t need to learn low level concepts. However, if you are planning to have a career in programming, then it’s better to learn something like JavaScript (if you’re interested in front end) or C++ (if you’re interested in embedded) etc etc

Really lovely video. At some after learning python I still had to learn Javascript 😅 because of websites. And I think learning either would depend on whatever you want to delve into.

Which book do you prefer for python for beginners?

I guess you have a point. The majority would say pick Python, but for me I found learning JavaScript was easier to pick up. Originally, I got into Python first, but I found myself having more difficult learning for loops, conditions, even functions. After 2 months I gave up. A couple of weeks later I had a friend tell learn JavaScript and I found myself learning the language a lot easier. With JavaScript I picked up the concepts much more quickly than I ever did with Python. The way JavaScript is designed its similar to CSS, C#, even Java. I found other languages which were more relatable to JavaScript than Python. Because of this fact I learn other languages as well like C#. Don't get me wrong. I find Python to be useful as well, very recently I began learning Python again because I am teaching myself to make video games using Pygames one of Pythons libraries.

It's not the question of which language you want to take. It depends on what job do you want to apply for. If you have a passion in creating websites, then JS is for you. But if you're in to AI and robotics, then Python is your language.

Start with Javascript, but focus on Python.

Javascript is nice on the resume due to complexity, and is good for frontend / backend programming. It's weaknesses are the complexity and super rigid syntaxes.

Python is easier and can turn things to deployment easier. Also Python is easier to debug and data analysis. It isn't as good for front-end programming though.
