I still can't believe they dropped the FTM-400. It's my favorite VHF/UHF radio I've ever had. Maybe these are an improvement. I've been disappointed in the FTM-6000 so far that I bought to put in my second vehicle. My favorite aspect of the 400 is the way the menus are set up. I do like that the new radios all fit the same mounting bracket and have quick release levers.
