This is PURE capitalism, and WTH kushner has 13 owned zones...SMH...this isn’t going to benefit anyone but these investors and they recognized this as well and the stock market margin.

Seems like something that benefits those that already have the resources (money/investors) to go into these "opportunity zones" to rebuild and/or invest in development projects that is or will be happening in those zones. New development in distress neighborhoods will increase the property values in those areas, which will increase the real estate taxes and the cost to rent apartments and homes in those areas. It just seems like this will lead to more gentrification and once again, the poor people are getting the bad end of the stick. If you're an real estate investor or a business, this is great. If you're not, this is not good. I'm going to do more research on this.

Not working in my community, in Houston off 610 fwy, no economic opportunities in my Opportunity zoned area, we are red lined out, Clinton Park is skipped over in Houston. Opportunity zone improvements and gentrification off 610 fwy, never hit East and South Houston, but downtown areas, heights, their brand new, and homeless population grew. This is going on around the country in every city, tax dollars, working for a few.
