Grant's Getaways: Sandy River Winter Steelhead

There are few fish species that drive sport anglers wild than winter steelhead. The ocean-going rainbow trout can tip the scales at more than fifteen pounds and provide unmatched thrills for their acrobatic and hard-charging fight. While the fish can be elusive and hard to catch, in this "Grant's Getaway" we join two pros who have been fishing the Sandy River collectively for more than 75 years. That's easy to understand because Jack and Brandon Glass live right along its shore. The father-son team shows us the tactics and techniques that work for drift boat steelhead fishing. They also show us why the Sandy River can be a place where -- despite being thirty minutes from a major metropolitan center -- it's easy to find a wonderful wilderness-like setting and enjoy an easy to reach escape into the great outdoors.

Both Jack and His Son Brandon are sponsored by Lamiglass, so I'd assume they're Cert Pro's or XMG 50's. Probably 9'6" 6-12lb Med Action...

They must have changed the rules since I fished the Sandy.  Couldn't fish out of a boat back then.
