Caleb had a friend that got him in to tech position here in Austin soon as he got out of college. Then bought a house pre pandemic. Sold the house and got the equity. Used a portion of that to put down on a house to rent out through another friend. Not saying most of the things he saying is wrong, but he should know that he got lucky. In fact majority of it was lucky timing and connections. Same with myself I bought in 2017 and 2019 then 2023. Made equity and got lucky with timing. It doesn’t excuse people’s bad spending habits and terrible decisions, but I seen several videos of his when his perspective is not down to earth.

Austin ranks #64 out of 100 according to the FBI. That's hardly "lowest crime rate of any major city". While lower on murder, it actually ranks much higher on rape (#20).

I live in Austin. I have been personally affected by crime, (as have my family and coworkers), including armed assault, petty theft, stalking, road rage, and murder. For my own sanity, I am leaving this hell hole in 3 weeks. Don't be fooled, everywhere here is dangerous.

as a teenager living in north austin with well off parents, it’s only fun if you’re rich. we are known to have pretty great public schools..if you live in a good area. the nightlife and shopping at the domain is insane…if you can afford it. Kalahari (world biggest indoor water waterpark) is 15 mins away. major takeaway is if you’re well off or rich it’s a very fun secure family friendly city.
