I am very grateful Dr. Abramson keeps these lectures online. Especially for those of us that can't afford to go back to college but still want to keep learning!

Another excellent lecture. I appreciate your informative and objective approach. As a Christian with an appreciation for history, this series has been a fantastic introduction into Jewish history and Judaism.

Thank you for postings these lectures. As a Catholic Christian, we are taught that the key understanding Scripture is to read it in context. This includes a heavy emphasis on our faith's Jewish roots. The first video lecture of yours I saw was on Paul of Tarsus. Very interesting and enlightening. We don't often hear how the faith affected Jewish life. The Church doesn't hide the errors it made in this area but it doesn't provide the kind of detail necessary for correct understanding one can get from someone living the Jewish culture. I look froward to hearing more of your lectures.

Really great lectures, thank you. I visited the Qumram site twice. The Essenes didn't live in caves. They lived in houses where they studied and copied Scriptures, there were mikvehs, dining rooms etc of which one can see the outlines and more in the ruins. They put the scrolls in these near by caves to protect, to hide them from their enemies as they were precious, holy and represented a lot of work.

I appreciate the lectures. This being said, there was no year zero. It went straight from -1 to 1

Just a little correction, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scroll by the Bedouin shepherd happened in 1946 and not 1952...
