Bungie did it again, made the best updates for crucible we've seen in years. And then messed it all up with Prosecutor and Summoner. Now we're in an auto rifle meta. One of the worst ones since year one of Destiny 2. The only question that remains is, how long until they fix it? Destiny 2 News, Crucible, PVP, and Trials of Osiris

Target lock on autos, at least at the TTK intended was already were they have now moved SMGs to. It only reduced TTK at certain resilience thresholds but otherwise just added a body shot to its base TTK instead of a crit. The problem with summoner in general is that it’s without a doubt the most accurate laser beam of a bullet hose I’ve seen in any 600 rpm auto I have.

Last trials weekend was dominated by scout rifles. Jade Rabbit in general has such ease of use that people will challenge using it in SMG ranges. The crit hit box on that thing is literally your upper body.

As someone who has over 30k kills with Sweet Business I knew something was wrong when a 450 RPM was able to trade with me while I was fully spun up and in some cases win the gunfight because they got the early Target Lock bug

That end part is so true. Right after prophet weekend in trials, it WAS the meta in 6v6. You either ran it or died to it. The gun had a crazy damage perk that had everyone 2 tapping each other along with crazy range and consistency. Other than other scouts, no other gun had the range or ease of use to compete. After that, it was gone. People either realized it wasn't effective in faster paced scenarios or simply got bored. We were in a truely oppresive scout meta for a couple days before it ended. No balance patch needed, the "hive mind" as you put it moved on.

Remember hand canons are not everyone, you will get players who enjoy crucible now coz of them being happy coz they main auto rifles. Bungie has to find proper balance and keep everyone happy but it's gonna be impossible.

why is it every time auto rifles get usable, it's supposedly ruined the sandbox?
Feels like a general overreaction as per the usual.
I have much preferred this meta to the one shot shotgun/SMG everywhere meta.

Adaptive pulse rifles are slept on. Went into iron banner with bygones and a last perdition, and dropped 2 30 kill games back to back.

Excellent video! I enjoyed your comments on the “hive mind” mentality of weapon metas, people just play with the same thing even when other options are viable because they think it’s the “best” since everyone else is using it. I love 180 rpm hand cannons and have gone solo flawless with them in nearly every meta we’ve had. You just need to work a little harder with non-meta weapons, but you can easily find success with them.

Completely disagree. I mean, it's clearly your biased opinion. If you don't like this meta simply don't play PvP instead of spamming propaganda that "PvP is ruined". Handcannons have dominated the PvP meta for eons and don't even try to sell me the high-risk high-reward bs... anybody can run Crimson or Thorn. To be honest I have been so sick of handcannons dominating the scene for years that I'd welcome ANY change in the meta even just to see something different.
Also I disagree with some of your statements where autos dominate everything. I see Multimach, Adjudicator, Teaveler chosen, Conditional finality. My only regret of this meta is to see very little or no snipers at all.

No, it's not auto rifles in general, it's just the outliers, every other 600 rpm that's not Summoner is a glorified smg

I'm not really seeing the autorifle "problem." I play on PC and the main problem I see is teams deathballing since the special weapon ammo change.

Disagree, igneous is still meta in comp and trials. Nothing wrong with autos being good, stop crying. Playing a team of good igenous users is way harder than autos. Also autos have been meta for maybe a total of 2 seasons in this game. Hand cannons and smg's have dominated for years.

Was getting bored using a pulse or hand cannon. Every weapon has it's time to shine.

Oh my goodness bruuuh every weapon is viable. At this point it doesn't matter what weapon is being used. Everyone is going to hold hands and team shot. Either its a 140, 120, sub machine gun, auto, pulse, or scout people are going to play in this method. However i dont want to see a meta built around 140s. That meta is boring since people peak shot and run the entire match. Also I'm tired of hearing this lame ass skill issue. Hand cannons have the most aim assist yet they take the most skill....yeah ok. I like this meta. I took a 140 and got 40 kills same with autos and pulse. At some point game sense should be a arguing point not nerf this or meta that.

I want bungie to go back to making 140s the gun where they balance the game around. Hand cannons are literally the most iconic gun in destiny. Ever since the game went free to play, they bent over for the casuals and scrubs who kept crying about losing to 140s. For 4-5 years we had the worst destiny ever. I'm hopeful though. Pvp strike team been cooking! The next update they are nerfing critical damage from 450s by 5%. But as you said, there is a lot more to fix. Summoner needs a slight nerf too. Once those 2 are fixed, the sandbox will be the best we've had in YEARS. The revenge bagging is just like me lol. I bag until they quit or get mad. Side note, just subbed!

As someone who played during season of arrivals, this is literally as bad as the 600 auto meta then, though it feels so much worse with the special ammo and health bar changes.

Who are you that thinks we don’t want there to be an auto rifle meta? I’m loving it personally. Add to the the reduction of green ammo and it’s allowing some new and interesting play styles to blossom! I hope they further reduce green and let autos have their day for a a good long while. It’s been hand cannons forever!
