I love these games where one player gives up a queen for multiple pieces. I think for lesser players (maybe under 1800 ELO), a big weakness they have is coordinating multiple pieces, so in that case, it can be worth it to have the queen in place of the pieces. But GM's really show how to use those pieces in place of the queen. It's fun and educational to watch.

The nicest game for MVL was the one against Keymer, and the most important/spectacular one was vs Vidit

I remember a game from the candidates in either 2013 or 2014 which involved Peter Svidler (can't remember who his opponent was) where the queen had been exchanged for three minor pieces. Absolutely crazy game with pawns marching on both sides of the boards and reckless sacrifices. I remember the disappointment when both players agreed to a draw without me understanding why they didn't push further.
