Years ago driving at night from New Hope PA back to Philly, the road was very dark and looking out the window I saw what I thought were the Northern Lights. We got out of the car and stood by the side of the road amazed that it was visible this far south. It's something I'll never forget.

That is so beautiful! I had thought no phenomenon is as magical as the auroras, but this sky feels so ethereal and deep! I'd love to go there to see it in person!

The meteors make it even more magical. I don't know how many meteor showers are seen on Svalbard, but the ones you guys do get to see must be incredible with those clear skies.

Wow! Thank you for posting these things! I live in USA but have a cabin in Telemark, southern Norway. I'm a widow now and not having been able to travel there to see my cabin for The Last 5 Years. I so love Norway! We had made plans to travel up to the North Cape and Kirkenes, but my husband passed away just before he was to retire. I figured I'd never make it to Svalbard, but now you've given me such a special view! Thank you so much!
