Stevie Ray Vaughan was everybody's hero man. Such a great song. Love Mayer's live performances. Wish more people knew them.

John Mayer has for sure made SRV proud. Beautiful to hold someone in high esteem and bring honor to them as well. I love it. Love him

I never paid much attention to John Mayer until lately and had no idea he was this good. But Stevie Ray was one in a million and will always be remembered that way. RIP

I have played on a ton of blues bands and this is one of the standards everyone knows how to play. I may have played this song a thousand times but John brings a different flavor to it. Exceptional

Nice, he didn't try to copy Stevie, he actually did his own thing.

Chris Layton is just slaying this groove, man. His swing is absolutely perfect, as it always has been. You know that you have a special drummer when they sound just as cool and laid back when playing a tune live as they did when they recorded it. He never rushes the feel, and his consistency of sound on each instrument is remarkable. People who’ve never played the drums won’t ever know how difficult that is to accomplish for three or more minutes straight. Great job.👍

Saw SRV last concert Alpine Valley, seen him before that night. On that night showed Clapton, his brother, Buddy Guy, and Robert Cray how it was done. A performance ill never forget. RIP SRV still in the top 5 Of GOAT

Mayer has had that very Strat since before he became famous, a long time, and it looks great, ain't all tore up like these relics you see Everywhere nowadays.

Had the pleasure of seeing SRV twice.
Both times were 3hrs of pure energy. Played with the same intensity from the opening note to the last.

same song but when it's Stevie it's so much better. He really had a magic touch. Miss you SRV 🩵

SRV was the man pure plan and simple-No if ands or buts. John Mayer is right there too with his own style, makes the sound melodically and smoothly flow from that guitar.

When you hear Mayer play this, you really understand how great SRV was.

Just not the same man. Even from a legend like Mayer.
Nobody and I mean nobody can touch Stevie's tone or his stage presence.

John Mayer has been a modern day guitar hero of mainstream music. Exceptional player, and he spends so much time online explaining his technique and his approach to playing, and laying down praise and respect to the giants before him. He’s incredibly generous to people who follow him. Loved his playing ever since Room for Squares, even though that emo pop wasn’t my kind of music. It shows just how much stylistic diversity he has in his playing.

I thought it was great the way John stayed within the spirit of the original solo, but did not try to replay it, or redo it.
Pretty sure John Mayer can play that Stevie Ray Vaughan solo. Probably note for note.
John Makes his guitar sing the song he wants it to sing.
