Honda has a new Passport #trailsport and it's being equipped to entice #toyota4runner fans. Here's how and why...

Excited for this. As an owner of both a passport and 4runner, this is what Honda needs to do. They will still have a ways to go match a 4runner off road, this is a step un the right direction.

The overwhelming majority of 4Runners never leave the pavement - this Passport will look the part and behave much better on road. Factor in the tried and true N/A V6 and a likely smaller price tag and it makes this a very compelling option. Also nice to know that the new Ridgeline will likely be sticking with the V6 as well which will make it and the Frontier the last two in the segment. Honda is definitely playing their cards right.

Keeping the NA V6 is a great move. This will satisfy most people’s needs, and will be a valid competitor to the 4Runner. For the small subset of buyers who want to truly off-road their rig, there is no comparison. All depends on what you want.

Great video. I initially planned to upgrade my 2017 Outback to the Wilderness edition, but now the Passport is my new obsession. We have had at least one Honda for 30 years (CRV currently) and have never experienced an issue. Now just have to wait for the actual release of this vehicle

Toyota just needs to send over a rebadged Suzuki Jimny to the US with a Camry motor and true 4x4. It'll sell like hotcakes if under $30k.

I like the fact that they're keeping their NA V6 but the only thing keeping me from getting one is that it is an interfering engine, especially with a timing belt instead of a chain.
