One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Review - The Final Verdict

Even when I was frustrated with Pirate Warriors 4, I always found my way back to a simple dash through enemies, taking them all into the air, and satisfyingly taking them all out at once. This is the feeling I got for most of the time playing through it. While some of the design choices took me out of the experience, I could always go back to its combat to get another thousand-hit combo or take down a massive boss, all while being able to experience the classic One Piece story and its new additions. For fans of the franchise, this is a welcome addition, and for many others, there’s a lot here, from its great Musou gameplay to its affecting story, that makes it worth recommending.

only thing I don't like about this game is the camera angles. I'm playing it on the switch so I can't speak for all consoles, but the camera in this game will constantly fight you. if you fight an enemy against a building or a wall then camera will just zoom in and you'll have no clue what you are doing or whats going on. and the lock-on system seems broken, like it will lock onto the enemy but it'll constantly lose sight of the enemy as well so you're constantly re-locking in order to get back to the guy you're fighting.

I 100% the game and won't bother to wait for the 3rd dlc pack because there's nothing left to do. Saying that to say this, Pirate Warriors 3 has way more activities to do; treasure hunts, legend completions, dream log plus coin farming to unlock hidden abilities and skills. Plus the kizuna system is fun. PW4 is fun but there's not much replay value once you complete story and treasure log.

i never had an issue with the camera, but it is annoying to want to lock on a character and get another one. luckily, i got use to locking on and can switch to the character i wish to fight. so i have no real big issues with the game itself.

This is basically the Morden day version of beat them up games, I’m a huge fan of One piece I had the first and second version of this game but I find it repetitive

The Dressrosa Colliseum has the most CHAOTIC battle i've ever had on One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4.

Never played the Pirate Warriors series but I love Dynasty Warriors and I love Hyrule Warriors. Is there any character upgrading in this game besides, sorta like the badge system from Hyrule Warriors, or is there just a level up system?

I play it on the ps4 and when I load it up there’s like a black edge around the screen instead of being full screen is that a problem or is that normal?

I've read all of the chapters, watched all of the episodes and the game is on sale for €19, 59 on the PS Store - but I'm still not sure if I want it.

I don't understand why they keep going with this warriors style game, it's amusing but nothing like the story. I'd much rather fight just a couple of interesting characters, be they from the show or original and actually feel like they're a challenge.

I wish they made a One Pieces game similar to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series, just like they did with DBZ Kakarot.

why not do a fighting game like naruto or something? Like luffy fighting against kata/big mom (and only them), would allow alot of focus on 1v1 fight like it happens in the anime( taking that camera problem away) Why is that so hard to understand after 4 titles with the exact same way of gameplay?
