Water, Impacts, and Climate Change: Insights and solutions from IPCC

The IPCC WG I report makes grim reading. Strong evidence from thousands of studies across the globe were brought together to detail how the climate is and will change. The information on the current state of the climate is now integrated by the WG II's contribution to the AR6 analyzing the impacts on a global and regional scale. In addition, it also examines human and natural societies' vulnerabilities, as well as their capacity and constraints to adapt to climate change. Water plays a key role: presented as one of the main future global challenges and as a yet untapped solution. The event will give a clear understanding on the implications and regional variations highlighted by the IPCC report for future water management and share the several sustainable water solutions that can help lower threats to people and the environment.

Led by the IWMI, this virtual session will feature multi-stakeholder dialogues and presentations, followed by a Q&A session.
