Early XJS V12 was the hardest engine to work on (in the car) ever made. 12 Quarts for oil change. Sparkplug change required removing AC compressor. Schematics never matched the car because they made changes mid year based on vendor contracts changing. Overheating was common problem and suspension sag was t be expected (new springs.) Steering rack bushings practically melted from the heat. Lovely cars, but I owned one XJS HE and that was enough. They did clean up most of this in the Gen 2 car when Ford owned them. Almost all of those issues disappeared.
