I wish there was a Free, FOSS version of this software like DBAN (Dereks Boot and Nuke) but that has no longer been updated since 2015 and does not work on SSDs

Hi I have a question. I have a laptop that’s still under warranty but has died. I have removed the SSD from it and backed it up to an external hard drive but now I need to send the laptop to the manufacture to be repaired with the SSD reinstalled into the laptop but before I reinstall it, I would like to know how I can wipe it so none of my data is on it, even though my laptop is dead, and will not turn on? Thanks for any help you can provide😊

PGP used to have a DOD and NSA DISK WIPE OPTION WITH 1s & 0s And a random character. You could select all 3 options. I would take a looong time though. :)

You claim that when a file is deleted "it's moved to another part of the drive scheduled to be wiped...). WHAT BS. The first letter of the filename is replaced with a '?' - indicating to the FAT Tables (yeah, there's more than ONE) that this file can be overwritten if required, so another file can allocate the spot that parts of the file previously occupied.

What kind of "Expert" are you, really...? Any files marked for deletion are NOT MOVED at all!
