Me and my father have been working on a old 69 ford custom 500 for about a year now. He and i both know he dont have much more time on this earth sadly ive been watching you guys since the channel came out and these full rebuilds have gave me the confidence to rebuild my old car. The story behind this ford is insane my father bought it for me for graduating from Hs. The olan was to drive it to me and my wifes wedding shortly after i was bever much on new platic cars even at a young age. So it was our daily for about 2 years loved this car. Sadly the original 390 lost conpression on cylinder 3 being young and dumb i traded it for a gxr600. Then for about the last 5 years have been trying to find another one just like it that i could restore with my old man for my son to appreciate when he gets older. I assumed after 10 years the ford was long gone considering all this time and i ended up finding it on market place same car "my car" and boy is she sad looking. Boles in the quarters no engine same c6 trans baby blue interior was still loud and proud. So i jumped on it. When my dad seen the rollback bringing it up the driveway his eyes said it all, it was a suprise the title was still in my name the car sate in a feild letting mother nature take its course. My dad is 73 years old lunge cancer, blacklung sylicosis and throat cancer hes had many surgerys do to the coal mines. He is on oxygen now but still tries to help me on the few days a month we get to wrench on it. I ended up going with a 302 5.0 was efi but too complicated for me to deal with and my time frame so went carb a points old school car is far from even close to being able to run.

Love it! I’m building an AWD K24 turbo EK hatch. It was totaled. I removed the entire front of the car-everything from the firewall forward and replaced with a parts car. It’s gutted now and I’m currently welding in the rear diff mount.
