As of June 13th, 2024, it was reported that Chinese car manufacturers outsold their U.S. counterparts, selling over 13.4 million new vehicles in 2023 compared to the 11.9 million units sold by American brands such as Chevrolet and Ford. In the first quarter of 2023, BYD surpassed Tesla in electric vehicle sales. Now, BYD aims to overtake Tesla in Europe, having sold over 426,000 electric vehicles, which suggests it will surpass Tesla's 441,019 electric vehicles sold by June.

BYD, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer in China, has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the BYD Sea Lion 07, to compete against powerful luxury electric SUVs in the global market. Its competitors include the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, Kia EV5, BMW iX1, Polestar 4, and other family SUVs. The key question is: what makes the BYD Sea Lion 07 special? This EV features advanced technology, a larger battery for a longer driving range on a single charge, and a more appealing design, all at a more affordable price compared to the other electric SUVs mentioned. From observations, it was noted that the BYD Sea Lion 07 draws inspiration from the Ocean X concept car and continues with the BYD Seal design pattern. The BYD Sea Lion 07 features a striking design with sharp lines across the body. At the front, it has large boomerang-shaped LED headlights, while the BYD logo takes center stage on the smooth, curved bonnet. The front fascia incorporates sharp lines and open air intakes to reduce drag and enhance smooth driving at high speeds.

On the sides, the BYD Sea Lion 07 has a sloping roof that forms a spoiler at the rear, and the windows are small, similar to those of sports cars and sedans. It also includes pop-out door handles and wheel arches in dark colors that blend with the tires. The vehicle comes standard with 19 and 20-inch wheels, and the taillights are positioned closer to the rear wheel arches. At the back, the 07 EV features a water-drop design with a lengthy taillight that spans the width of the boot door to the sides. The ducktail spoiler is the same size as the cargo opening. The rear bumpers have openings that allow airflow, similar to the front.
