Hallelujah!

As I prepare to travel to Israel to perform with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra on Yom Haatzmaut, it seems right to celebrate Israel’s musical legacy around the world.

This cheery song gave people everywhere reason to celebrate in 1979 when it won the Eurovision Song Contest representing Israel, and since then, it has been covered in several languages, including in English by Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé. Now it returns to delight us in this new swing band arrangement - New York style.

What are your plans for Yom Haatzmaut? I hope they include raising your voice in this song which envisions a world where everyone will sing “Hallelujah”. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom and a happy Yom Haatzmaut
