Flight of Icarus

This was a project for my Greek and Roman mythology class, and is my interpretation of the myth of Icarus and Daedalus' escape from the Labyrinth. It begins slower and more somber as they contemplate their captivity, and then it builds in tempo until they create the wings. The echo you hear from the lower octave speaking to the higher octave is Daedalus reminding Icarus not to fly too close to the sun. The key change to the G major is intended to reflect the joy Icarus and Daedalus both feel now that they are free. And of course, Icarus flies too high, and falls to the ocean beneath in a resounding crash. Hope you enjoy! :)
